Hi, I’m Rose wright.

I started needlepointing mid-2024 when I discovered a box of my late great-grandmother’s DMC embroidery floss and hundreds of yard of fabrics tucked away in the attic.

“What am I going to do with all this” I asked myself.

I quickly Googled some fun and unique things to do with thread and that’s when I discovered needlepoint. I watched a few YouTube tutorials and I was off.

January 2025 came around and I decided it was a great idea to stitch an ornament for every member of my family…not a task for the faint of heart. I knew it was going to be a costly activity, so I sat down at my desk in my college apartment and taught myself how to paint my own canvases. I bought a roll of blank canvas and started drawing the designs in Excel, using the color fill tool to get the shapes I wanted … BAD idea, it took forever. I eventually bought an app, and what’s left of the story is history.

A little bit about me:

I’m now a post-graduate, newlywed, married to my wonderful husband Max. I work in tax accounting in Indianapolis and am studying towards CPA licensure.

I graduated Indiana University (GO HOOSIERS) with a Bachelors degree in Accounting and Finance and a Master’s degree in Accounting.

My husband and I love road-tripping, backpacking, and whipping up a new meal we haven’t tried before. My biggest accomplishment is having visited 39/63 US national parks with many trips planned in the upcoming years. If we ever get the chance to meet in person, it’s my favorite thing to talk about.

Why are my designs centered around the Midwest?

After shopping around for quite some time, I noticed a gap in the market for Midwest designs, not just Texas, the South, or East coast. While that is wonderful for those that live or vacation there, the Midwesterners are left with little to represent us. I hope my designs represent the Heartland well and give stitchers a little piece of home.
